Doug has more than two decades of business, technology focused on development, sales, and marketing leading and building high-performing teams. Over the past 10 years, Doug has worked with technology focused start-up organizations around the country raising venture dollars, creating new products, and recently taking one company private. Prior to his work with startup organizations, as an executive for Apple, Doug and led and transformed northeast US through a highly competitive and hyper growth period in the early 2000’s. Previous to Apple, at Microsoft he built and led sales and marketing organizations in commercial, public sector, and educational, enterprise sales and marketing teams in Boston, New York, Hawai'i, Seattle, and Southern California. Doug is also a former member of Launchpad Venture Group in Boston.
In the late 2000’s Doug led the Interlochen Center for the Arts Alumni Council transforming their approach to alumni engagement. In 2012 he was asked to join the Interlochen Board of Trustees where he served on the finance, development, and technology and marketing committees. Over that same time, he also served as the Ballet Theatre Company’s board chair for 10 years in Hartford, Connecticut, growing the company from a small, struggling dance company to a thriving and successful organization increasing its budget 600%. He served on the board of Out Youth as Finance Chair and Treasure and led the strategic planning initiative. Doug was also the principal trumpet with the Starlight Symphony.
Doug received his bachelor’s degree in Music Performance and Business from the Hartt School of the Performing Arts at the University of Hartford.
Doug works with a number startup organization through mentorship programs at Mass Challenge and Techstars. He also serves on the KMFA Board of Directors where he led the strategic planning initiative and the organization search for a new CEO. He also serves on the Austin Soundwaves board of directors. From time-to-time he works with other non-profits and startups on a contract basis focusing on financial health and building revenue.
